Today, June 2, at 9:30 local time, the “Theater Train” arrived at the Krasnoyarsk station – an all-Russian project uniting cities and theaters of the country from Vladivostok to Moscow.

The event is dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the Union of Theater Workers of Russia and takes place in the format of a large tour by rail.

An unusual train of 10 carriages, decorated in an anniversary theme, brought theater groups from Irkutsk, Bratsk and Abakan to the capital of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.

A ceremonial meeting and opening of the two-day All-Russian festival “Theater Train” took place on the station platform. The guests were greeted by representatives of the government of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, managers of the Krasnoyarsk Railway, and artists. Many city residents also came to meet the “Theater Train”.

Bright creative groups from the capital of the region performed on the stage set up on the platform, creating the atmosphere of a great celebration. An exhibition dedicated to theatrical art and theatrical professions opened in the station building. For two days, everyone can see it.

On June 2, amateur theater artists will perform on the central embankment of Krasnoyarsk. In general, over two festival days, Krasnoyarsk residents will be able to attend 8 performances brought by theaters in Irkutsk, Bratsk and Abakan. Performances will take place at the House of Actors, the A. S. Pushkin Theater, Youth Theater, and the Musical Theater (detailed program is on the official website of the “Theater Train” project).

On the final day of the festival, June 3 at 21:00, a gala concert will take place on the platform of the Krasnoyarsk station. The art symbol of the “Theater Train” project will be transferred to the next “station” of the route – the city of Kemerovo.

“Theater Train” is an all-Russian project organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, the Union of Theater Workers and JSC Russian Railways with the support of the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives.

As part of a large-scale cultural and educational initiative, 2 routes have been organized: eastern – from Vladivostok, and southern – from Sevastopol, to the capital of Russia.

The theater train on the eastern route started on May 12. It will travel more than 14.3 thousand km by rail and make 23 stops in large and small cities located on the BAM and Trans-Siberian Railways, in Siberia and the Urals, as well as in the north and central part of Russia. The total duration of the route is 50 days.

In each city where the trains stop, a two-day theater festival, performances, master classes and creative meetings are held. On June 30, both trains will simultaneously finish at the Kievsky railway station in Moscow, where the big festive finale will take place.
