The Ukrainian national football team lost Canada in a match with six goals


The match was the first for the Ukrainian team in Canada. He was held as part of the Canadian Shield tournament – competitions preparing for the selection for the 2026 World Cup.

The Ukrainian team played with Canadians for the second time in history. The first match, also comradely, took place in Kyiv on October 8, 2010 and ended in a draw with a score of 2: 2, reminded the Ukrainian football Association.

In Toronto, the starting lineup of the Ukrainians was: Anatoly Trubin, Nikolai Matvienko (captain), Valery Bondar, Ilya Vesarny, Alexander Timchik, Ivan Kalyuzhny, Nikolai Shaparenko, Alexander Zinchenko, Georgy Sudakov, Victor Tsygankov, Roman Yaremchuk.

The Ukrainian team missed already in the 4th minute-Jonathan David played at the selection in the penalty area and sent the ball to the bottom of the right rack.

In the 24th minute, the same player distinguished himself again. This time he scored his head after a hinged gear.

By the break, Canada increased its advantage to 3: 0. In the 31st minute, Bondar made a mistake, the ball intercepted the pro-Miss David and pushed him under the foot of Trubin.

The same players of the Ukrainian national team came to the second half, the head coach Sergei Rebrov did not replace.

He made four replacements only in the 67th minute (Trubina was replaced by Dmitry Reznik, Yaremchuk-Nikolai Mikhailenko, Tsygankova-Alexander Zubkov, Matvienko-Alexey Gutsulyak), but even after that the Ukrainian team did not play, as the fans would like.

In the 81st minute, the Canadian Teijon Buchanen at a close distance was severely struck by the Reznik and made a score 4: 0.

Only in the 89th minute, the Ukrainians managed to score-he played a funny on finishing.

In the compensated time of the second half, the Ukrainian team received the right to a penalty. The ball fell into the hand of the defender of Canada in the penalty area, and Zinchenko realized it.

At the Canadian Shield 2025 tournament, in addition to Ukraine and Canada, the national teams of New Zealand and the cat-d'Ivoire will also play.

On June 11, Ukraine will play against New Zealand.
