A resident of Krasnoyarsk robbed a shift worker from Yekaterinburg, but the court did not deprive him of his freedom, the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation reported.
The police established that the injured man came to Krasnoyarsk to work as a driver on a rotational basis. He stayed overnight in one of the hostels in the Zheleznodorozhny district and decided to have a drink.
“When he left the room, the door slammed, and the man remained on the landing waiting for someone to come to his aid. However, the wait dragged on and the man fell asleep. The attacker took advantage of this: he approached the man, struck him several times and removed a gold chain from his neck, after which he disappeared», — the press service said.
The cost of the stolen item was estimated at 80 thousand rubles. The police managed to identify the attacker. He turned out to be a 28-year-old resident of the regional center who had no previous convictions. He took the chain to a pawnshop and spent the money.
A criminal case was opened against him under Part 2 of Art. 161 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Robbery”. The Krasnoyarsk Railway Court examined the materials and found the man guilty. They decided to punish him with 2.5 years of suspended imprisonment with a probationary period of 3 years. The verdict came into force.
