State Duma deputies adopted a law that introduces strict liability for forgery and the use of fictitious medical documents confirming the absence of dangerous infections, including HIV. Yamal 1 writes about this.
For forgery, sale and use of fake certificates, violators face restriction of freedom for up to three years, a fine of 500 thousand to 1 million rubles, forced labor for up to four years, or a real term of up to four years with a possible fine.
They will be punished even more harshly for using fakes about the absence of infections dangerous to others, including HIV. It provides for restriction of freedom for a period of two to four years, forced labor for up to five years or imprisonment for up to five years, and the fine will range from 800 thousand to 1.5 million rubles.
If a crime is committed by a group of people in conspiracy, using the Internet or official position, the punishment becomes more severe: imprisonment from three to six years, a fine of 1 to 2 million rubles and a ban on holding certain positions for five years.
