The newspaper “Birobidzhan Star” (12+) of 1948, October 13, wrote in the section “Across Our Region” about the construction of new houses for immigrants and about the hunting society. Here we also write about the gardening activities of a resident of the village of Londoko, Ilya Chinepove, who began gardening three years ago and during this time he already has several dozen fruit trees in his garden:
“… two varieties of pears, red and yellow ranet, “Antonovka”, three varieties of plums, cherries, two hundred raspberry bushes, wild and cultivated gooseberries, currants… The gardener brought seedlings of fruit trees and shrubs from the Khabarovsk nursery named after Lukashev and the Kundursky garden.”
In the same section, the newspaper introduced readers to how they work in different parts of the region – about the best workshop of the Obluchensky locomotive depot and the work of advanced workers and innovators.

“The machine shop is the best shop at the Obluchensky locomotive depot. It has firmly secured its leadership in socialist competition and has maintained it for several years. There is not a single worker in the shop who does not exceed his assignments. The machine gunners have made dozens of rationalization proposals and improvements.”
The newspaper reported that a sanatorium group was organized at the kindergarten of the Tungussky timber mill for the children of Daldrevtrest timber mill workers.
The article “Hunting Society” talks about the work to protect valuable breeds of fur-bearing animals:
“The grassroots organization of society in the village of Izvestkovaya is the largest in the region. It unites 150 amateur hunters. Having finished hunting waterfowl, amateur hunters prepare for the winter season, carry out measures to protect valuable breeds of fur-bearing animals, and fight poaching. On the initiative of the chairman, Comrade Dudko, a workshop for making stuffed animals and a nursery for hunting animals is being organized dogs.”
