Demonstration cars in Polish showrooms. Even 41 thousand PLN discount

These are demonstration cars, i.e. the so-called demos. These are cars with mileage usually ranging from several hundred to 10,000. km. — They are almost new, registered to the dealer, previously used for test drives with customers or used by employees – explains Oskar Jedliński, director of the market development department at Superauto.pl.
The popularity of demo cars increases seasonally when vintage sales end and many models are no longer available. And this time they are enjoying increased interest also due to the search for savings in the era of expensive fuel.
There may still be thousands of them in Polish showrooms. — Assuming that a dealership has on average 5-10 demonstration cars for sale, and the number of dealerships, according to IBRM Samar, is 1,750, it can be estimated that there are still approx. 9-18 thousand cars on the market. this type of vehicles. The offer is dominated by cars from 2025, but earlier models are also available – adds Bartosz Chojnacki, vice-president of Superauto.pl.
– Purchasing a demo is often the only opportunity to get a vehicle whose production in its current version has already ended, and for a new one you have to wait several months or longer and, of course, take into account a price increase – says the vice-president of Superauto.pl. Traffic in the “demo” section on the Superauto.pl website increased by 30%. in February, compared to January and March, it remained at an increased level.

Watch out for hooks
Despite the fact that on the list of “demos” You can find real gems, but when browsing through these types of offers, you need to be careful.
— First of all, you should compare the price of such a car with the offer to purchase a new vehicle of the same year. Demos are not always cheaper than new cars, especially when the brand has large discounts on new cars at the moment. It is also necessary to assess whether the discount offered compensates for the degree of wear and tear of the vehicle, notes Oskar Jedliński.
Emphasizes to compare engine and equipment versions. — It may happen that the demo version has a weaker engine that is no longer produced or has a lower standard of equipment. On the one hand, these are benefits that many buyers are looking for, but they should be compensated by an appropriate discount compared to a new car of a higher standard – sums up the head of the Superauto.pl order department.
Bonus for individuals
– If someone is looking for a new car, but accepts the fact that it has a low mileage, the offer of demo cars can be a very beneficial solution – says Oskar Jedliński. He emphasizes that this type of cars is primarily interested in individuals who cannot count on such large discounts on new cars as companies can. – By purchasing a “demo” you can receive a discount on a new vehicle, which is often greater than the discounts that automotive brands grant for fleet purchases of several or several dozen vehicles – informs the head of the Superauto.pl order department.
