– The government has accepted the draft amendment to the Excise Duty Act – Szłapka said on Tuesday at a press conference after the meeting of the Council of Ministers.
The project assumes an increase in the scale of excise tax increases on alcohol next year. Currently, the act provides for increases in this tax by 5%. in 2026 and by 5 percent in 2027. The project adopted by the government includes a proposal to increase the excise tax rate in 2026 by 15% and in 2027 – by 10%.
– This means that a bottle of beer would increase in price by 16 groszy and a bottle of vodka by PLN 3 – said Szłapka.
The proposed regulations are to enter into force on January 1, 2026.
