Trade unionists slept on chairs at the ZUS headquarters. They demand a PLN 1,200 increase

Salary negotiations have been ongoing since Wednesday between the management board of the Social Insurance Institution and the trade union, which does not leave the headquarters in Warsaw. The ZUS press office told PAP on Thursday that work and customer service are continuing without disruptions.

At ZUS, wage negotiations have been ongoing since Wednesday between the employer and twelve company trade unions, based on the provisions of the Collective Labor Agreement for ZUS employees (ZUZP). On its website, the Company announced that the subject of negotiations was the division of funds resulting from an increase in the amount of the personal remuneration fund by 3%.
“During the talks, the settlement of the financial plan for personal remuneration for 2025 and the initial proposal for the division of funds for 2026 were presented, which the trade union side questioned,” he said.
Negotiations with the trade union, which decided not to leave the headquarters, were fruitless by Thursday evening. The ZUS press office told PAP after 18 that the talks are ongoing and the employer has presented the possibility of obtaining additional funds for remuneration from other items of the Plant's financial plan for 2026.
Customer service at ZUS branches is carried out on an ongoing basis, and the work of the Department is carried out without disruptions – assured representatives of the press office.
ZUS reported on its website that the management board members initially proposed an increase of PLN 170 in basic salaries per full-time position, which gives PLN 241 with additional remuneration components resulting from the Collective Bargaining Agreement (bonus, seniority allowance, award from the Company Award Fund, i.e. thirteenth salary, jubilee award, retirement and disability severance pay). After the talks, another proposal assumed a salary increase of PLN 180 per full-time position, which is PLN 255 with additional remuneration components resulting from the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
On Wednesday, trade unionists decided to establish an inter-union protest and strike committee.
In the next stage of negotiations, the employer presented a proposal to increase the basic salary in the amount of PLN 200 per full-time position, which is PLN 284 with additional remuneration components resulting from the Collective Bargaining Agreement, the Company reported. He added that the employer also agreed to submit an application to the relevant ministries for an increase in the personal remuneration fund for 2026 financed from other items of the Company's financial plan.
During Thursday's press conference The Trade Union Alternative at ZUS informed that due to the lack of agreement, approximately 30 trade union representatives are not leaving the ZUS Headquarters at ul. Szamocka in Warsaw. – We slept on chairs – said Ilona Garczyńska from the management board of this organization. She added that the union was waiting for a conversation with the decision-making representative of the Ministry of Finance.
The trade union side does not agree to the financial proposals presented by the ZUS authorities. He demands an increase in wages by an average of PLN 1,200 gross per employee. (PAP)
