According to media reports, the former head of the Ministry of Energy Svetlana Grinchuk denied leaving Ukraine and assured that she was in the ministry and was transferring documents after her dismissal.
Grinchuk did not answer questions from journalists about the reasons for not appearing at a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada, possible invitations to parliament, an assessment of her own work and the appearance of her name in the Midas case.
BBC News Ukraine noted that the ex-minister last spoke publicly on November 14 at a meeting of the parliamentary committee on energy issues. Then she said that because of the “media scandal” she considered it impossible to remain in office, and denied the involvement of those involved in the Midas case in her appointment.
“Before my appointment to the position, I was interviewed only with the Prime Minister of Ukraine. Nobody else interviewed me,” Grinchuk said.
Grinchuk also emphasized that she “did not visit the office of the criminal organization on Vladimirskaya, 20/1a” and that she did not receive any proposals for personnel appointments, the media writes.
The editors of BBC News Ukraine also addressed questions to the now former Minister of Justice German Galushchenko. However, messages sent through WhatsApp and Signal remained undeliverable. The media notes that this may indicate that the phone is turned off or messengers are deactivated.
Galushchenko last appeared in public space on November 12, when he announced his dismissal and stated that he “does not hold on to his position” and will defend himself legally.
