“Sound” traffic lights and tactile signs appeared in Krasnoyarsk

In Krasnoyarsk, after citizens' appeals, “sound” traffic lights and tactile pointers at pedestrian crossings appeared to the prosecutor's office.

Krasnoyarsk residents with visual impairment turned to a personal reception to the prosecutor of the region. Verification of their “tip” showed: on two lively intersections – Mira Ave., 80 – st. Weinbaum and st. Shakhtarov – st. Courage – traffic lights “silent.” And the tactile pointers under the feet have improper corrugation that does not correspond to GOST.

The lack of sound signals and the correct tactile tile created real difficulties for blind and visually impaired people, limiting their movement and access to transport, information and even ordinary stores.

“The prosecutor's office did not stand aside. The head of MKU “SUCH” was introduced – and the case moved from the dead point. Soon, traffic lights sounded at problem intersections, and tactile signs were replaced by those that meet the standards, ”the press service of the supervisory authority said.

We will remind, earlier in the Sovetsky district of Krasnoyarsk, the court banned the activities of an illegal private boarding house for the elderly and disabled people of Kadotsa LLC. A complaint about the work of the institution on Svetlogorskaya Street entered the prosecutor's office.
