The village of Valdheim was founded, immigrants from the western regions of the country, put the first huts on the site of the future village. The village appeared, although in the forest wilderness, but not from scratch. And it did not immediately become Waldheim. Initially, at this place was the barracks with serving people, presumably, it was the Cossacks, they called the area a kirma. Then a resettlement point was organized, called Khudzinovka. The point received such a name by the name of the first chairman of Khudzinsky, unfortunately, the name and patronymic could not be clarified.
By the fall of 1928, the first houses were delivered. By June 1929 – 10 residential buildings and 20 outbuildings were built. The population of the village grew to 103 people. Two small artels worked in the village: tarred-jacket-sipidar and in the production of chips.

In the square near the avenue of 60 years of the USSR, the memorial complex “Border guards-defenders of the Amur borders” was opened.
In the center of the square on the pedestal is the sculpture of the Soviet border guard, with a rifle behind his shoulder, he looks intently into the distance. At his feet stands an East European shepherd. Behind them is a tetrahedral border post with the number “63”, on the boulder a tablet with the text: “Border guards – defenders of the Amur borders.” The sculpture of the border guard was made in the PRC according to the sketch of the Birobidzhan artist Vladislav Tsap.

The prototype of the monument was the veteran of the border service Fedor Mikhailovich Sumin, who served as a foreman in the Lenin border station for more than 40 years, awarded the medal “For Military Merit” and the Order of the Red Star. The monument embodied the images of border guards – the defenders of the Amur borders, who with honor fulfilled their duty to the homeland in different years of Soviet and new Russian history.

On the asphalt site, shops and tank IS-2 were installed around the perimeter (this copy took part in the battles in the Far East), a unique ship gun of the 1909 KAKE system, which has been in the fortified area on one of the Amur Islands for many years. Only five such guns were produced.
In the square you can also see two ZIS-3 guns, one of which took part in the hostilities against militaristic Japan.

The opening of the complex was dedicated to the centenary of the border guard of Russia. A new square was created and a complex for personal funds of border guards.
In May 2020, a cobblestone path was laid out in the square, along which six pylons were installed to the border guards – the heroes of the Soviet Union: Dotsenko Joseph Trofimovich, Strelnikov Ivan Ivanovich, Gushchin Vladimir Ivanovich, Terninom Peter Ivanovich, Vasherkin Ivan Vasilyevich, Kagykin Peter Petrovich.
Every year, by the day of the border guard, the border service veterans and border warriors ennoble the square: they paint equipment, benches, curbs, plant flowers on flower beds, wash the sculptural monument.
