A magnetic storm hit the Earth earlier than predicted

Scientists detect a powerful magnetic storm caused by a coronal hole on the Sun. As reported by the Ural Meridian news agency with reference to the solar astronomy laboratory of the Institute of Space Research of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the phenomenon reached the Earth two days earlier than predicted.
Satellites have recorded a sharp increase in the speed and temperature of the solar wind in near-Earth space. The lower limit of the auroras has dropped to a latitude of about 55 degrees, which makes their observation possible in Moscow, Kazan and Nizhny Novgorod.

Scientists continue to monitor the situation in real time and promise to publish an updated forecast for the visibility of the auroras later in the evening.
