Apple's foldable iPhone has hit more problems ahead of its launch

The foldable iPhone is one of Apple's most anticipated products that could change the premium smartphone market. Problems at the production stage may affect the release date and availability of the device. The success or failure of this project will matter not only for Apple, but also for the entire mobile industry.
This may be the reason for the technology giant's extremely delicate approach to indicating – even an approximate – release date of a completely new version of its flagship phone. And although several versions have already appeared in which Apple would boast a foldable smartphone, unofficial information rather suggests further delays.
Apple's foldable iPhone has hit more problems ahead of its launch
As reported by Macrumors.com, the American technology giant allegedly has a new problem. This is according to leaks from one of the Weibo users – and more specifically Fixed Focus Digital – who made new revelations at the beginning of the week.
According to the whistleblower, Apple's problems are not due to the reliability of the hinges, as we explained earlier, but to the use of surface mount technology (SMT) in the pre-assembly stage, which results in a lack of increase in production efficiency.

As Macrumors.com explains, the source described the situation as somewhat worrying, but did not suggest that the fall premiere was in jeopardy.
It is worth noting that the latest reports appeared less than a few days after another whistleblower known as “Instant Digital” reported that the device's hinge consistently failed to meet Apple's quality control standards under conditions of prolonged, frequent opening and closing.
No longer hinges. Now Apple has another problem with the foldable iPhone
User “Instant Digital” described this issue as a problem that “must be solved with absolute perfection.” In another post, he suggested that difficulties related to the hinge are unlikely to affect the expected release date.
Bloomberg and DigiTimes report that despite delays of one or even two months, the foldable iPhone should debut in the fall of 2026 – most likely in September or December. Mark Gurman from Bloomberg, however, stipulates that “the date is not final” – because mass production has not started yet.

According to leaks, the foldable iPhone will have a 7.8-inch screen without bends, titanium-aluminum casing, A20 system, Touch ID, two 48 MP cameras and up to 12 GB RAM. The price is expected to be around $2,000. (about PLN 7,300), which places the device in the premium segment. Apple wants to eliminate typical disadvantages of foldable smartphones, such as visible screen bends, which can make it stand out from the competition.
