New images of a European head of state in Romania: He left protocol aside when he saw a street dog

On a discreet visit to Romania, the president of Poland, Karol Nawrocki, went to the Zărnești center dedicated to rescued bears on Thursday. On the way, the leader stopped according to protocol to pet a dog.

The Polish president visited the AMP Libearty Sanctuary, an animal protection project. The official from Warsaw symbolically adopted the Batyr bear and sent congratulations to the organizers, according to Agerpres.

After the visit was completed, images appeared on Facebook of the president stopping the official motorcade and bending down to pet a dog along the route.

“It was not just a stop in a diplomatic program. It was a low-key moment, a genuine gesture, coming from the heart, without the press and without making it a moment of praise,” AMP Libearty representatives said of Karol Nawrocki's visit to the sanctuary.

The “Millions of Friends” association announced on Friday that the European leader's visit took place without public exposure, press or official components in the diplomatic program.

The journey was made by land from Bucharest to Zărnești, while the presidential aircraft was stationed at Brașov-Ghimbav International Airport, the same source said.

The President of Poland, Karol Nawrocki, was in Romania this week to co-chair the 11th Summit of the Bucharest 9 Format (B9), held at the Cotroceni Palace.
