An elderly resident of Achinsk almost lost a large sum due to telephone scammers, but she was stopped by the director of a communication salon. The story was shared by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The attackers, using the MAX messenger, first lured a 77-year-old woman out of a code from an SMS under the guise of ordering keys for an intercom, and two weeks later they convinced her that her savings were in danger and forced her to transfer money to a “safe account.” They told me to apply for the service not to the bank where accomplices of the criminals allegedly work, but to a mobile phone store.
At the office, the pensioner tried to transfer 240 thousand rubles, but the director of the salon, Lidiya Ezhova, recognized the scheme in time and reported it to the police. Law enforcement officers who arrived at the scene took the woman to the department, where they explained that she was one step away from losing money.
