The use of the weapon for the breaking of aircraft that enters without permission in the national air space is a decision that must be taken “ultimately”, said the Minister of National Defense, Ionuţ Moriţu, after the Supreme Council of Defense (CSAT).

The CSAT has shown that the decision to intercept or break down a military aircraft with or unanswered or a missile that enters without permission in the national space belongs to the military commander of the operation, according to Agerpres.
If it is a civil aircraft, the decision belongs to the Minister of Defense.
Ionuț Moșteanu said that the breakdown of aircraft that violates the national airspace is a decision taken “ultimately”.

“We cannot compare how Ukraine reacts and how to react the European countries that have various such incidents.”
The minister referred to the recent situation in Poland.

Countries have to be better equipped, to be better prepared. European countries are countries that know the 80-year-old peace. This is the reality in Europe and we will not have an eternal peace.
