The CSAT has shown that the decision to intercept or break down a military aircraft with or unanswered or a missile that enters without permission in the national space belongs to the military commander of the operation, according to Agerpres.

If it is a civil aircraft, the decision belongs to the Minister of Defense.

Ionuț Moșteanu said that the breakdown of aircraft that violates the national airspace is a decision taken “ultimately”.

“It is also the spirit of the law, we are a country in peace time, the spirit of the law is to use the armament ultimately, when anything else does not work,” he said.

“We cannot compare how Ukraine reacts and how to react the European countries that have various such incidents.”

The minister referred to the recent situation in Poland.

“In the case of Poland, for example, they took out four of 19 drones. I do not know how the problem would have been put to us if the same thing would happen. Countries have to be better equipped, to be better prepared. European countries are countries that know the 80-year-old peace. This is the reality in Europe and we will not have an eternal peace. These in public space – how Ukraine reacts and How to react European countries that have various such incidents. (Ukraine – no) is a country in war, a country in which civilians die every day, which for three years and something is defended with our help, of their partners and all the countries that have similar values ”said Moșteanu.

The minister evoked belonging to the alliance of the North Atlantic Treaty.

“NATO has all the proceduresexists. The advanced aerial police are in our country, you have seen, in our country, for example, German pilots with five Eurofightere and make air police along with our pilots, who make air police with F-16. In Poland, the F-35 of the Italians rose. (…) And this shows how important NATO belonging is, and how NATO works and how the defense, protection and discouragement in the spirit of NATO treaties, in the spirit of the commitment that NATO made to protect the population of the countries and the space of the Allied countries “works.said Moșteanu.
