The scammers took advantage of the stir around the toys of the Pop Mart Labubu to steal money and accounts in Telegram. This was reported by RIA Novosti with reference to analysts of the Department of Protection from the F6 digital risks.

Experts found telegram bots in which Labubu acts as a bait for phishing, as well as attracting users in dubious schemes. One of these telegram bots are aimed at theft of accounts. Under the pretext of receiving a gift in the form of Labubu for a review, the Bot offers to share his contact, and then enter the received code under the pretext of accounting as a “unique user”. In fact, this is an access code.

In addition, the company's analysts found several accounts and bots in Telegram, where fake sale of popular toys is being conducted: after the transfer of funds, the Seller may stop communicating and refuse the buyer to return the money.

According to Yevgeny Egorov, a leading analyst at the F6 Digital Risk Protection Department, scammers use every new product, fashionable product or toy as a bait, which caused excitement and high demand. Experts advise critical about the draws and promises of gifts, especially if such a proposal is posted on social networks or instant messengers.

Recall that earlier toys Labubu became interested in Roskankiy. Experts intend to check and study fluffy monsters with a grinned smile, which not so long ago became a trend accessory and gained popularity around the world.
