When to settle PIT 2026 – deadline April 30 and exception for PIT-16A
As pit.pl explains, an exception to the general rules for taxpayers is a group of entrepreneurs who settle their taxes using a tax card (PIT-16A).
When should the PIT-16A declaration be submitted? The news may disappoint entrepreneurs because the return must be submitted by the end of February of the year following the tax year. In practice, this means that PIT for 2025 must be submitted to the tax office by February 28, 2026. If February 28 falls on a holiday, the deadline is moved to the next business day.

As pit.pl points out, if you fail to submit the declaration on time, you can use the institution of active regret. It is an independent notification of the tax office about committing an offense, which allows you to avoid punishment. You can also submit an active complaint online, via the e-Tax Office.
It is worth remembering that when paying taxes, you can take advantage of a wide range of tax reliefs. In addition to popular and often chosen deductions – e.g. child tax relief or thermal modernization tax relief – there are also several that most taxpayers forget about.
