“Putin can still continue the war for a long time by inertia, like a rooster that still runs around even after its head has been cut off,” Feigin said.
Feigin was born in 1971 in Kuibyshev (now Samara). Graduated from the Faculty of Law of Samara State University, the Academy of National Economy under the Government of the Russian Federation and the Diplomatic Academy of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Candidate of Legal Sciences. In 1994–1995 he was a deputy of the State Duma of the first convocation, and in 1997–2007 – vice-mayor of Samara.
In the 1990s, he received the status of a lawyer, but began practicing law in the 2000s. He became widely known as one of the lawyers for the members of the punk group Pussy Riot. After the start of Russian aggression, he defended the interests of several famous citizens of Ukraine whom the Russian Federation held on its territory or against whom it initiated criminal cases in absentia, including the leader of the Crimean Tatar people Mustafa Dzhemilev and former pilot Nadezhda Savchenko.
In 2018, Feigin was deprived of the status of a lawyer in Russia, in 2022 he was added to the list of “foreign agents”, in 2023 he was put on the wanted list, in 2024 he was first arrested in absentia in the case of “fakes” about the actions of Russian occupiers in Ukraine, and then sentenced to 11 years in prison.
Now the lawyer lives in France, is engaged in blogging, and develops his YouTube channel “Feigin LIVE”, which has almost 2 million subscribers.
