It has passed extremely again another month of football. The superliga is in full swing, the European cups groups also started on the road, and the national team does not offer much hopes in the preliminaries that we can dream of the world. The time has come to officially open the voting procedure for the readers GSP.ro, who will also choose this time the “player of the month” and “coach of the month” September 2025.

The “best” project of the Sports Gazette returns in force. A new month in which we have to choose those who shone on the ground in September.

We had surprise results and uninapped score reversals at the beginning of the season. An extremely surprising ranking, with teams that did not hope to be at the forefront of the Superliga before the first whistle of the competition season.

Through work, dedication and, why not, a splash of luck, these teams have reached the top and deserve the recognition for the very good results obtained in the last month.

So, it's time to open the online voting procedures for “September player” and “September coach”, where GSP.ro readers choose their favorites!

Player of September 2025 – nominations

For the trophy “Player of September” Gazeta nominated 5 footballers:

Caio Ferreira (FC Argeș). The Brazilian “Pantera”, coming from the Republic of Moldova, begins to show its class. It was the main fire mouth of Pitesti in September, with solid and appreciated developments, including MVP in the match with Hermannstadt. He scored both against UTA Arad and against the team in Sibiu.
Christ Afalna (Unirea Slobozia). The 27 -year -old cameruner was the man of the goals for Slobozia in the last month. He scored twice for Vlădoiu & Prepeliță's team, in 2-0 victories with Hermannstadt and 1-0 with Oil, being the best player on the field.
Eduard Pap (Csikszereda). After five defeats, the Ciucans began to take the taste of … Equals! They obtained four draws, the goalkeeper with decisive interventions that kept from home. Twice designated the team's best player, with FCSB and Metaloglobus, Pap has gathered 20 saving interventions in the September matches.
Mykola Kovalyuk (FC Botosani). Free contract from Kolos Kovalivka from Ukraine, Mykola made the difference against the FCSB, in Botosani, even though it only took the last 24 minutes on the field. Helped by Mailat and Ongenda, Kovtalyuk shone with a “double” who kidnapped the champion and turned it into MVP.
Alexandru Musi (Dinamo). He left FCSB behind and adapted to the Croatian team Zeljko Kopic. With a promising season start, the “dogs” benefited from the midfielder's contribution. Musi scored against Craiova University, in the Bănie thriller (3-3), and offered a decisive pass in 3-0 with Petroleum, at Sivis's success.

On the preliminary list were: Hervin Ongea (FC Botosani), Lars Kramer (Rapid) and Alexandru Mitriță (Zhejiang).

Coach of September 2025 – nominations

For the trophy “coach of September” Gazeta nominated 3 technicians:

Bogdan Andone (FC Argeș). The team came from Liga 2, but did not scare the “dragon” from the Superliga. Even though the start was more cumbersome, the “Vultures” Pitesti adapted perfectly to Andone's style and in the first league and are now at the top of the standings. The victories at the limit with U Cluj and Hermannstadt, plus a spectacular equal, 3-3, with UTA Arad, are the September results of the Pitesti band, which has not lost since August 11.
Andrei Prepeliță (Unirea Slobozia). The union always plays away and is still waiting to move “at home” after more than a year of torment. However, the Ialomites did not take into account difficulties and strongly pressed the acceleration. Two victories in September, 2-0 with Hermannstadt and 1-0 with Oil, plus 1-1 with the Lighthouse, keep the students of Prepeliță in the first six of the Superliga.
Leo Grozavu (FC Botosani). Tactical and with the old school in equipment, Grozavu turned FC Botosani from a team on relegation into one of the revelations of the superlig. Nor did the supporters dream of such a course, but the work and organization spoke their word. September was a perfect month for Moldovans! Victories on the line: 1-0 with steel, 3-1 with FCSB and 2-0 with metaloglobus.

On the preliminary list were: Zeljko Kopic (Dinamo), Cristi Chivu (Inter), Florin Maxim (Corvinul) and Erik Lincar (FC Bihor).
