In Krasnoyarsk, a former police officer will be tried for taking a bribe

In Krasnoyarsk, a criminal investigation has been completed against the former head of the investigative unit of the Main Investigation Department of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Krasnoyarsk Territory. He is accused of committing a crime under Part 6 of Art. 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (receiving a bribe on an especially large scale). Operational support of the criminal case was carried out by the Federal Security Service of Russia in the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
According to the investigation, from 2021 to 2022, a police officer investigated a criminal case against a “black lumberjack” from the Ilansky district. During the preliminary investigation, the damage caused by the man was determined to be 182 million rubles.
“The police officer, acting for selfish reasons, agreed with the entrepreneur to carry out illegal investigative and procedural actions in his favor in the form of reducing the amount of damage to 109 million rubles. For this, the logger had to build a cedar house for a policeman at his own expense on his property in the Yemelyanovsky district,” said the press service of the investigative department of the RF IC.
The criminal case went to court, the entrepreneur was found guilty and damages of about 109 million rubles were recovered from him. The logger gave the accused a house worth more than 9 million rubles.
At the moment, the former policeman is under house arrest. At the request of the investigation, the court seized his property in the amount of more than 19 million rubles.
The criminal case was sent to the prosecutor's office to resolve the issue of approving the indictment and subsequently sending it to court for consideration on the merits.
