The dedicated section will be temporarily canceled on the Nikolaevsky Bridge in Krasnoyarsk

28 January 15:16

In Krasnoyarsk, on Nikolaevsky, a dedicated lane for public transport towards the Oktyabrsky district will not operate for two weeks. All drivers will be able to use it freely to drive from 8:00 on February 2 to 23:00 on February 16the mayor's office reported.

The corresponding road signs will be displayed at the site, and the systems for recording traffic violations will be reconfigured and will not take into account movement along the allotment. Other violations will continue to be recorded.

The administration explained that this decision was made for additional monitoring of the situation that developed when leaving the Tikhie Zori microdistrict:

“After the opening of the exit to the Nikolaevsky Bridge from Pashenny, traffic flows in this part of the city have seriously changed. A large number of cars drove along the new section of the road, bridge and interchange. This turned into problems for residents of Tikhye Zori: during rush hours, there are large traffic jams at the exit from the microdistrict. Cars cannot fit into the flow coming from Pashenny. There are many complaints and requests from drivers. The situation was reviewed by a working group on traffic management, which included specialists from various industries, representatives of the scientific, transport community and the traffic police. Several solutions to the problem have been proposed. Some were calculated using computer modeling. It showed that installing traffic lights or other local measures will not seriously improve the situation. Therefore, it was decided to try to redistribute transport.”

For two weeks, traffic police crews will be on duty at exits from Tikhye Zori to regulate traffic and flow distribution. Specialists from the traffic monitoring center will record all changes. Based on the results of monitoring, a decision will be made on the advisability of canceling “dedicated lines” on the Nikolaevsky Bridge on a permanent basis.

Let us remind you that now only two bus routes go through this crossing: No. 31 and 64.
