I throw 1 spoon into a bucket of water – I don’t wash the floors for weeks: the surfaces sparkle like a mirror

After cleaning, literally a couple of hours pass – and there is again dust, wool, and stains on the floor. This is especially true in homes with animals. But there is a simple and inexpensive way to prolong the freshness effect – and it’s in your medicine cabinet.

We are talking about glycerin – an inexpensive, transparent liquid that not only moisturizes the skin, but also turns ordinary water for washing floors into a “long-lasting” product.

How does this work?

When added to water, glycerin creates an invisible protective film on the surface, which:

  • gives a light, natural shine;
  • acts as an antistatic agent – repels dust and fur;
  • Particularly effective in homes with pets.

How to prepare the solution?

Add to half a bucket of warm water (about 5 liters):

  • 1 tbsp. a spoonful of pharmaceutical glycerin;
  • optional – 5-7 drops of essential oil (lemon, eucalyptus, tea tree or pine needles).

Stir thoroughly until completely dissolved. Essential oils will not only give a pleasant aroma, but also enhance the natural antiseptic effect.

How to use?

  1. Wipe the floors with a well-wrung out cloth as usual.
  2. Do not apply glycerin in its pure form – only in diluted form!
  3. Suitable for laminate, linoleum, ceramic tiles.
  4. For parquet or natural wood, test on an inconspicuous area first.

Bonus: It doesn't just work on floors!

This same solution is great for:

  • window sills,
  • glass tabletops,
  • glossy furniture surfaces.

After treatment, dust settles more slowly, and surfaces look fresh and well-groomed longer.
