The Minusinsk City Court sentenced a local resident who twice reported false mining attacks. The man, while intoxicated, “joked” first about the mining of the Sayano-Shushenskaya hydroelectric power station, and a few days later – the hostel where he lived.
As the court found, on the evening of October 4, the pensioner called the emergency number and reported that the Sayano-Shushenskaya hydroelectric power station was mined and would be blown up. To verify the message, the police forces of Minusinsk and Sayanogorsk were used, which caused material damage to the budget totaling more than 16 thousand rubles.
On the morning of October 7, he repeated the “joke” by calling the janitor of the hostel where he lived from the phone and reporting mining. In court, the man fully admitted his guilt.
He was found guilty of two counts of knowingly falsely reporting an act of terrorism. Based on the totality of crimes, he was sentenced to 1 year 6 months of suspended imprisonment with a probationary period of 1 year 6 months. The verdict has not yet entered into legal force.
