Employees of the Krasnoyarsk Gufsin prayed to their “heavenly patron”

In Krasnoyarsk, GUFSIN employees took part in the Molebne Rev. Pimen Ugreshsky, who has been considered the patron of the employees of the Russian criminal executive system since last year.

According to the press service of the regional diocese, the worship was held in the Krasnoyarsk church of the Holy Martyr Amphilochium. He was held by the priest Rodion Petrikov, who is an assistant to the head of the regional GUFSIN to work with believers, as well as the rector of the temple.

After the completion of the prayer service, the priest turned to the department’s employees with the story of the life of the saint and wished them his “prayer intercession” in the service.

The Monk Pimen Ugreshsky, who lived in the 19th century, is known as the founder of the Nikolo-Ugra Monastery near Moscow. He was ranked in the face of all -Russian saints in the same year when the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia was formed as an independent service. The Russian Orthodox Church officially approved him as the patron saint of the UIS in March 2024.
