Monday did not bring any major emotions on the stock exchange floor. In the lazy, post-Christmas atmosphere, WIG and WIG20 remained close to the bull market peaks established before Christmas. Tomorrow we will have the last session on the WSE this year.

At the end of the day, WIG reached 116,660.23 points, which translated into an increase of 0.39%. Therefore, it was not possible to break the pre-Christmas peaks. The same applies to WIG 20, which gained 0.30% and reached 3,164.93 points.

The low volatility of stock indices was accompanied by very low investor activity. The turnover on the main market only reached PLN 1.3 billion and was clearly lower than this year's average. And this is hardly surprising, since the calendar favors extending Christmas holidays. Last week we had only two trading days and also in the last week of the year there will be only two sessions on the WSE. One today and the other on Tuesday. Because New Year's Eve is a day off on the Warsaw dance floor.
Among the 20 blue chips, CCC shares performed best, gaining 2.7%. The prices of Allegro, Orlen, PGE and Kęty also increased by over 1%. The red light this time turned out to be the shares of PZU, which lost 2.1% after the day before they were quoted at the highest level in history. During the day, KGHM's shares achieved a new intra-session high, but ultimately ended the day on a down note.
In turn, Azoty's securities shined in mWIG, increasing by almost 7%. After a disastrous start to December, the chemical giant managed to make up for most of this month's losses in the last three sessions. The valuation of Cyfrowy Polsat increased by over half a percent, and today there were changes in the supervisory board, to which the descendants of Zygmunt Solorz returned. This is the result of the resolution of the succession dispute in the Solorz family by the Prince's Court in Liechtenstein.
Energa's shares increased by 8.25%. Before Christmas Eve, Orlen announced the acquisition of over 4.5 million shares of the energy company, but it did not manage to exceed the threshold of 95% of shares and therefore cannot make a compulsory buyout of the remaining shares and delist the company from the stock exchange.
