The coming 2026 will be declared in the country as the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia. The corresponding decree was signed by the head of state Vladimir Putin. The President spoke about this at a meeting of the State Council on training personnel for the Russian economy.
“We have declared 2026 the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia. I have just signed the corresponding decree,” the head of state shared, opening the meeting.
Let us remind you that the outgoing year 2025 is designated as the “Year of Defender of the Fatherland.” The head of state timed this to coincide with the special operation and the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The year 2025 was named in memory of the exploits of all our ancestors.
It also became known that the annual message of Russian President Vladimir Putin to the Federal Assembly will not take place in 2025. This was stated by the press secretary of the head of state Dmitry Peskov.
