Craiova Airport has a new terminal. What flow of passengers it will be able to take

Craiova Airport inaugurated on Thursday, December 18, a new terminal, which will allow it to handle, from now on, a flow of approximately two million passengers per year, compared to 600 thousand, in 2025.
“It was an honor to participate today, together with Sorin Grindeanu, the PSD President, Lia Olguta Vasilescu, the mayor of Craiova, Cosmin Vasile, the President of the Dolj County Council, and Sorin Manda, the director of the Craiova International Airport, at the inauguration of the new terminal of the Craiova International Airport – the largest and most modern regional terminal built from scratch in Romania in recent years“, the Minister of Transport, Ciprian Şerban, said on Facebook.

The new terminal marks a new chapter in the development of Craiova International Airport, “consolidating its position as the main air hub of southwest Romania and contributing to the economic and touristic growth of Oltenia”, according to the minister.

Ciprian Şerban (PSD) added:
“A decisive role was played by Sorin Grindeanu, who, as Minister of Transport, supported the allocation from government funds of the sum of 50 million euros, necessary for the completion of the investment“.
The new terminal will allow Craiova airport to handle, from now on, a flow of approximately two million passengers per year, compared to 600 thousand in 2025, according to ProTv News.
The new terminal has several check-in counters and boarding gates.
With its completion, three runways and two new boarding-disembarkation platforms were built, which allow several aircraft to be operated at the same time,
The investment in the new terminal amounts to over 100 million euros, European funds, from the government, but also from the own budget.
