Summer Tourism in Poland: Insights from GUS Data
Statistics revealed that in July and August 2025, Poland welcomed approximately 7.7 million domestic travelers, while just over 2 million were international tourists. The data indicated slightly higher tourist numbers in August compared to July.
On average, each tourist utilized about three nights of accommodation. In July 2025, total overnight stays reached nearly 13 million, with 1.3 million from international visitors. In August, these figures were approximately 12 million overall, including 2.5 million foreign tourists.
Interestingly, the regions that attracted the most tourists were not coastal provinces, which recorded between 500,000 to 700,000 visitors. Instead, the Małopolskie and Mazowieckie regions topped the list.
What Makes Poland a Popular Tourist Destination?
Poland has emerged as an attractive tourist destination, primarily due to the large number of domestic travelers who explore the country for both leisure and cultural enrichment. The country’s appeal is enhanced by its diverse natural attractions, ranging from sandy beaches along the Baltic Sea to lakes, expansive forests, and mountainous landscapes in the Sudetes and Carpathians.
Additionally, Poland boasts numerous historical landmarks, ancient cities, castles, palaces, and UNESCO World Heritage sites. A well-developed tourism infrastructure, a rich array of wellness offerings, national parks, hiking and cycling trails, and various cultural events position Poland as a year-round tourism hotspot.
