A Krasnoyarsk man will stand trial for attempted murder committed 22 years ago. The regional prosecutor's office spoke about this.
According to the supervisory authority, in 2003, a 35-year-old Krasnoyarsk resident harbored a grudge against an acquaintance who humiliated him among local crime bosses at the Sopka casino. Revenge became a matter of honor for him. The man spent weeks secretly monitoring the schedule of his future victim. To realize his plan, he found and hid in a cache a homemade machine gun equipped with a silencer.
Having chosen the moment to attack, the attacker with a weapon in his hands took a position in the attic of a house on Sergei Lazo Street. When the victim went outside, there was a line of fire. The man shot his friend at least 5 times, after which, confident of the death of the offender, he fled the scene of the crime.
A criminal case was opened regarding this fact, but it was not possible to quickly establish the identity of the attacker. The crime was revealed only 22 years later, the accused admitted his guilt and confessed.
“When I found out that he survived my shots, that made me angry. In 2007 and 2008, I tried to kill him again, but each time I was unsuccessful. For both attempts, I was sentenced to a long term,” the accused told law enforcement officers.
The prosecutor confirmed the charge of attempted murder (Part 3 of Article 30, Part 1 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The criminal case will be considered by the Sovetsky District Court of Krasnoyarsk.
