In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, a bank manager will stand trial for stealing money from pensioners' accounts.
The press service of the regional prosecutor's office said that in the summer of 2025, in the village of Kedrovy, in a bank branch, a 61-year-old manager with 20 years of experience was serving elderly clients. Pensioners withdrew small amounts for daily needs.
The woman conceived a theft scheme: the system made it possible to correct transactions unnoticed, and clients rarely checked statements. As a result, the bank employee began to indicate in the system an amount greater than the requested amount, gave the client exactly as much as he asked for, and pocketed the difference.
“The scheme worked for about six months. The children of the victims reported them missing after noticing inconsistencies in the statements. It turned out that large sums had disappeared from several accounts. Transaction records, cameras and testimonies confirmed the suspicions. The total damage amounted to 234 thousand rubles,” the supervisory agency clarified.
According to the woman, she committed the thefts because she could not stand the financial difficulties. She compensated the victims for the damage.
Currently, she has been charged with theft from a bank account using her official position (Part 3 of Article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The case will be considered by the Emelyanovsky District Court.
