Donald Tusk on public debt. “We have everything under control”


“Our debt is incomparable to other developed countries, such as Italy or France. It will not end in a crisis, we have everything under control.” – Tusk assured. He added that the decisions to increase the debt were conscious and resulted from the geopolitical situation: “We consciously made the decision that there would be a larger debt because there is a war abroad, we need to arm the army, these are huge costs.

Tusk: We have overtaken Japan
The Prime Minister pointed out that despite difficult external conditions, the Polish economy remains in good condition. “We suppressed inflation to the level of the inflation target, kept unemployment at one of the lowest levels in the EU, and pushed Poland to the highest growth rate – I am proud of that. – he emphasized.
According to Tusk, Poland is today one of the growth leaders among the most developed economies in the world. “We are one of the fastest developing countries among the richest in the world. We have crossed the magic trillion dollar mark in revenue. I know the statistics won't feed people, but they show that we have become a regional leader. “We overtook Japan” – said the head of government.

Tusk: We keep the budget in check
The Prime Minister was also asked about the state of public finances and the budget gap. He replied briefly: “The government is keeping it in check.”
The topic of health care also came up in the conversation. Tusk noted that his government has significantly increased funding for this sector: “We spend PLN 80 billion more on this than our predecessors.” but – as he added – just adding money is not enough. “There will be no waterfall of money here, you need to manage these funds wisely. This is also the task of the Minister of Health. – he emphasized.
