Context
A teacher's salary in Ukraine is 60-70% of the average salary in the country, while in European countries this figure is 100-110%. Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Education, Science and Innovation Sergei Babak announced this on October 15 in Telegram.
“Even with additional payments and allowances, on average they do not exceed 14–16 thousand, when the average salary in the country is almost 26 thousand. The situation with the salary of young specialists is even worse. Without experience and category, a young teacher receives approximately 8–9 thousand UAH. Under such circumstances, the question of motivation becomes rhetorical,” he noted.
