Israel is preparing to expand the offensive in the gas sector, mobilizing more reservists – Bloomberg

Measures are aimed at reducing the pressure that they provide on Netanyahu within the country and from abroad due to more than 18 months of the war with the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas.

After the end of the two -month truce, Israel blocked the humanitarian assistance to the population of the enclave, exceeding more than 2 million people, and the Israeli troops now control about a third of the Gaza.

The militants supported by Iran occupied the coastal strip and still hold 59 hostages captured in October 2023. Of these, 24 people are considered alive, the article says.

Some members of the Government of Netanyahu, including the Minister of Finance of Bitsalel Smay, called for a military escalation of war with Hamas in order to destroy it, “even if the lives of hostages are threatened.” While most Israelis simply want the war to end, and hostages are exchanged for prisoners of Palestinian militants, Bloomberg writes, guided by the data of a recent survey of the State Israeli edition of Kan News.
