ANPC president Cristian Popescu Piedone said on Tuesday, after he was heard at the National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA) in the file in which he is suspected of warning to carry out a control at a hotel in Sinaia, that “champagne to the great retaileri”.
“Probably today the champagne in the great retailers, at all restaurants and big hotels are opened. (…) Good things in Romania become bad, and bad things in Romania become good,” he said, according to Agerpres.
Popescu Piedone mentioned that he officially requested that the entire command that was in control on the Prahova Valley in the spring of this year to be accommodated at the respective hotel in Sinaia, but it was replied that there are not so many rooms.
Prosecutors descended on Tuesday morning in a tourist complex in Mamaia, where Piedone was staying.
Subsequently, he was brought by prosecutors to his home in Bragadiru for searches.

“Since I am the president of the authority I can be accused of anything, I can tell me anything, I did not do influence trafficking, I did not take a lion, I did my duty. That I disturbed, yes, I see nothing, we will see, but I disturbed many and I talk to me, I do not want to do it. innocence ”, said Cristian Popescu Piedone, in front of his house in Bragadiru.
Piedone acknowledged that he is friends with the owner of the hotel and is now accused of DNA of having held a discussion with someone from the respective hotel in Sinaia, in which he would disclose to be in control there or in the area. According to some judicial sources, it is about the International Hotel in Sinaia, which would belong to the former Liberal leader Dan Radu Rușanu.
