In Kansk, the cars of 35 traffic violators were confiscated into state ownership. This was reported to the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the region.

One of those who lost their personal transport was a 40-year-old resident of Kansk. His story began in August 2023. The traffic police crew detained the drunk driver of a Toyota Corona, and an administrative protocol was drawn up against the man under Part 1 of Art. 12.8 Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation. The offender was deprived of his driver's license for 1.5 years and ordered to pay a fine of 30 thousand rubles.

Six months after the incident, the man again came to the attention of state traffic inspectors: first for repeated driving while intoxicated, and then for driving without a license.

“For each of the facts, criminal cases were initiated under Part 1 of Art. 264.1 and 264.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The police seized the driver’s foreign car and, based on the results of the investigation, sent the criminal case materials, along with a petition for the confiscation of the seized vehicle, to the court for consideration,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.

The traffic violator was convicted. Taking into account the previous sentence, he was sentenced to 3 years and 4 months of imprisonment in a general regime correctional colony with deprivation of rights for 3 years. The high point in this story was the confiscation of the convicted person’s car into state ownership.
