Those who received disability certificates unjustly or who cheated the system will come out of state protection and, where the frauds are intentional and clear, the Prosecutor's Office will be notified, the Minister of Labour, Family, Youth and Social Solidarity, Florin Manole, announced on Tuesday.
“Since the application of the new disability criteria, we have started to do what is right for those who need the state to be close to them. Thus, those who have received disability certificates unjustly or who have cheated the system until now will come out of the state's protection,” the minister said in a post on Facebook.
He specified that, where the frauds are “intentional and clear”, the ministry will also notify the Prosecutor's Office.
“Where the frauds are intentional and clear, we will also notify the Prosecutor's Office, so that those who traffic with disability certificates will pay. We are correcting the system so that only those who need it will receive the benefits,” said Florin Manole.
According to the data presented by him, between November 6 and December 31, 2025, 27,658 people were reevaluated. In the case of 14,944, it was determined that the degree of disability would be maintained, and for 3,194, certificates of ineligibility were issued. Also, 5,484 obtained a lower degree of disability, and 4,036 a higher degree.
