Putin admitted the shortage of fish on Russian tables

December 19 18:20

Russian President Vladimir Putin During a live broadcast with the results of the year, he commented on the proposal to begin regulating fish prices.

The question appeared on the screen in the studio, and the head of state himself expressed a desire to answer it. Putin called the topic of interference in pricing policy difficult.

“Regulating prices in the market is a complex and dangerous story. As soon as we set the bar, the goods immediately disappear. There are areas where regulation is necessary—medicines. For ordinary goods, this is a complicated story,” the president said.

He agreed that there is not enough fish on the tables of the country's residents. The head of state cited logistics difficulties as the main reasons for the shortage. According to him, it is necessary to establish supplies so that fish products from the Far East can reach the tables of all Russians, and create conditions for updating the fleet.
