Russia's military spending in the first quarter of 2026 reached a new record – it increased by one third compared to last year, according to Janis Kluge, a researcher at the German Institute of International and Security Affairs, quoted by the RBC-Ukraine news agency. Russia's military spending in the first quarter of 2026 amounted to 5.91 trillion rubles. That's about $83.2 billion. This amount is a record high since the beginning of the full-scale war with Ukraine.
