Warning from the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs

The Ministry of Diplomacy in Tehran indicated that Iran's neighbors have a “legal and moral obligation” to counter American actions from their territory. In an official statement, the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs “confirmed the legal and moral responsibility of all countries in the region (…) for allowing the US military and Israel to use their territory or facilities to plan, organize, carry out or support actions hostile to Iran,” AFP reported.

Tehran also announced a military response to countries providing infrastructure for actions against Iran. Iranian authorities warned that the country “will not hesitate to exercise its inherent right to self-defense” by striking bases and logistical facilities used against Iran. This position is intended to justify expanding attacks on countries hosting American forces.

US attack on Iran

Last night, the United States Army carried out strikes against facilities in Iranian territory. The Americans mainly attacked radars, control stations and elements of the air defense system. The action was preceded by the shooting down of an American helicopter on Monday.

US Central Command (CENTCOM) stated that ““The operation was a proportionate response to recent attacks on U.S. forces and international merchant ships transiting regional waters.”

Iranian drones over Bahrain

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) reacted to the Americans' actions. The formation reported that its drones hit the US 5th Fleet stationed in Bahrain, the Al-Azrak base in Jordan, as well as American targets located in Kuwait. Thus, the conflict spread to countries that had previously served as a base for American forces in the region.
