The representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, whose murder was prevented by law enforcement officers, was Andrey Yusov, Deputy Chairman of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War. The coordination headquarters announced this on June 8 in Telegram.
The national police reported the detention of a 38-year-old resident of Kyiv, who is suspected of preparing an attempted murder of an official of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Moscow Region, commissioned by the special services of the aggressor country of the Russian Federation. The investigation claims that the occupiers promised $100 thousand for organizing the murder, of which $10 thousand were to be paid in advance.
The defendant collected information about the official’s travel route, schedule, place of residence and transport, and also considered the possibility of using an FPV drone and selected a performer.
The Office of the Attorney General noted that the 38-year-old defendant in the case is a former military man with combat experience and intelligence skills. He was detained on June 4.
The man was informed of suspicion and faces up to 15 years or life imprisonment.
“Despite the threats and obstacles from the aggressor country, we continue to work to search for and return missing and captured Ukrainians,” the coordination headquarters emphasized.
