The deposit system is to be expanded. The Ministry announces an important date

The deposit system in Poland is introduced by the Ministry of Climate and Environment in stages. The aim of such activities is to enable operators and stores to freely adapt to the new realities.
Currently, the system mainly covers plastic bottles with a capacity of up to 3 liters and metal cans with a capacity of up to 1 liter. However, the system still includes, among others: packaging for dairy products and glass bottles for spirits.

Will the deposit system be expanded? The deputy minister indicated the date
Deputy Minister of Climate and Environment Anita Sowińska in an interview with Polskie Radio 24 admitted that her ministry wants to take further “directional decisions regarding the expansion of the system” in June.
As she indicated, it will mainly be about single-use glass: monkeys and standard vodka or wine bottles. The deputy minister noted that these bottles are very often found, among others, in the forests.
The Ministry has a plan to expand the deposit system
Sowińska also noted that adding glass bottles to the deposit system is a big logistical challenge because glass is heavy and therefore requires different handling in bottle dispensers.

— Environmental protection must go hand in hand with economics. If it doesn't match the economics, it just doesn't work. We have to design it so that it makes business sense, added the deputy minister in an interview with the radio.
PR24 reports that ultimately the ministry wants to strengthen the reusable packaging branch, following the example of countries such as Germany. The idea is that a standard bottle can circulate on the market even several dozen times.
