Cunning housewives buy salt in packs and know no troubles: this is what they do with it – 3 tricks

Regular table salt can replace expensive household chemicals. Take note of three proven methods that will help you clean up your kitchen without extra costs.

Dishwashing liquid

If the dishwashing gel does not foam well and does not cope with grease, do not rush to throw it away. Add 1 teaspoon each of salt and baking soda to the dispenser, then shake the mixture.

As a result, the product will begin to foam more actively, and the dishes will shine clean even with a minimal amount of gel, reports home economics expert Marina Zhukova in her blog (18+).

Removing odor from a thermos

To permanently get rid of the musty or coffee smell inside the thermos, do the following:

  • pour 3 tablespoons of salt directly into the flask;
  • fill with hot water to the brim;
  • leave overnight;
  • In the morning, drain the solution and rinse the thermos thoroughly with clean water.

Extraneous aromas will disappear without a trace, and the walls will not absorb the chemical taste.

Bringing freshness back to kitchen towels

Kitchen towels with old greasy stains and unpleasant odors can be easily washed with salt. Dissolve 4 tablespoons of salt and 1 tablespoon of grated laundry soap in 1 liter of hot water.

Place dry towels in a basin and fill with the resulting solution. Leave the items to soak overnight and rinse them in warm water in the morning. After this treatment, the grease and musty smell will disappear, and the fabric will become fresh and soft.
