Grzegorz Kolodko predicts a crisis in Poland. “It's the flight of the moth to the flame”

In the Polsat News program “Szubartowicz's point of view” Grzegorz Kołodko outlined a pessimistic vision of the Polish economy in two or three years. After such a period of time, in his opinion, Poland may be at risk of a real shock. The former deputy prime minister claims that Polish politicians are acting just to survive until the next elections.
In his opinion, this political strategy “is miserable and wrong from the start”, because then the situation will be even more complicated and the next government will have to “clean up this mess”.
“It's like a moth flying into the flame,” said Prof. Kolodko in Polsat News.

Grzegorz Kołodko: this can only end in a serious crisis
According to Grzegorz Kołodko, in a few years Poland will see a return to high inflation and an increase in unemployment. Poles will no longer feel their material conditions improve, and their wages will drop in real terms. The development of the Polish economy will slow down, all because of the current economic policy of the government.
The former finance minister criticized specific actions of the government, including: military spending, which he considers poorly planned and “exorbitant.” He also pointed to too much debt with external partners, including: in the European Union. He called the SAFE loan program outright “irrational.”

– This can only end in a serious crisis, first financial, and then economic, social and political, because this problem will not solve itself – summed up Grzegorz Kołodko in the Polsat News program. He added that as a result, “some people will then take to the streets” and “politicians will accuse each other that someone else is to blame.”
