Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, turning to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Thursday, called him “a man in a desperate situation who has been unable or unwilling to end the war for four years.” Zelensky earlier suggested in Davos that Orban was “selling European interests.”

“Dear President Volodymyr Zelensky, it seems to me that we will not be able to reach an agreement. I am a free man who serves the Hungarian nation. You are a man in a desperate situation who, for the fourth year now, has been unable or unwilling to end the war – despite the fact that the US president provided all possible help to achieve this,” Orban wrote on the X platform.

Therefore, no matter how much you flatter me, we cannot support your war effort. The Ukrainian people, of course – despite your carefully chosen insults – can still count on us to provide them with electricity and fuel, and that we will continue to support refugees coming from Ukraine, added the Hungarian Prime Minister.

At the end of the post, he said that “life itself will decide the rest and everyone will get what they deserve.”

Ukraine has been resisting the Russian invasion for almost four years. During his Thursday speech in Davos, President Zelensky noted that “the forces that are trying to destroy Europe do not waste a single day, they operate freely, even within Europe.”

– Any Viktor who lives on European money and at the same time tries to sell European interests deserves a slap in the face. And if he feels comfortable in Moscow, that doesn't mean we should let European capitals pretend to be little Moscows. We should remember what divides Russia from all of us, said the Ukrainian leader.
