The Prosecutor General also directed prosecutors from the Masovian Branch Department of the National Prosecutor's Office to investigate incidents that occurred on railway routes in Masovia and the Lublin region. As he explained, the team's task is not only to determine the exact circumstances of the perpetrators' actions, but also to bring them to justice in Poland.

Waldemar Żurek informed that behind the sabotage are the Russian special services, which allegedly recruited two Ukrainian citizens acting on their behalf.
“We know the identity of the perpetrators who fled to Belarus“- he said. He also emphasized that this matter has the highest priority in the activities of the Polish services.
The acts of sabotage took place on the Warsaw-Dorohusk railway route. In the town of Mika in Masovia, an explosion of an explosive device damaged the railway track, while on Sunday, near the Gołąb station in the Lublin region, a train carrying 475 passengers had to brake suddenly due to damage to the railway line.
Prime Minister Donald Tusk, presenting information about these events to the Sejm on Tuesday, pointed out that the people responsible for blowing up the track at the Mika station were Ukrainian citizens who came to Poland via Belarus and fled after committing sabotage. The Prime Minister added that the suspects had been cooperating with the Russian secret services for a long time.

Tusk also announced that the Polish services have full data and images of the suspects. One of them is a Ukrainian citizen, previously convicted in Ukraine for acts of sabotage, while the other is a resident of Donbas, an employee of the local prosecutor's office, who fled to Belarus. Both men were to get to Poland in the fall and leave through Terespol after the attacks. The Prime Minister announced that he had asked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to take diplomatic actions to have Belarus and Russia hand over the suspects.
