The England squad will be protected by three rings of security at the World Cup training camp, including anti-sniper screens and anti-drone weapons.

Even Donald Trump might be envious of the English! According to The Sun tabloid, England's World Cup training camp will be a real fortress. Three security rings will protect Thomas Tuchel's players during their stay at The Inn in Meadowbrook.

Command center vis a vis the hotel of the English

First, it will be surrounded by a cordon of concrete barriers and screens to block the line of sight of potential snipers, the quoted publication reveals.

Also, a no-fly zone will be imposed to counter possible drone attacksand a command center will be set up on the land opposite the 54-room £260 (€300)-a-night hotel that will house the British.

Armed police, security officers and private guards will patrol the perimeter of the compound in Prairie Village, Kansas. Next to it is an apartment complex, but protective screens have been installed so that the 500 inhabitants cannot peek “over the fence”!

Concern over numerous gun crimes in Kansas and terrorist threats

A Meadowbrook Estate official revealed on condition of anonymity: “FIFA and the US Department of Homeland Security will secure the perimeter of The Inn park and the Prairie Village Police Department will have an increased presence in the park. There is internal security.”

The reason for these draconian measures? “Security will be tighter than ever amid concerns about the high number of gun crimes in Kansas and potential terrorist threats. Police will escort the England international back and forth between the hotel and the nearby Swope Soccer Village training ground“, writes The Sun.

“Players will be surrounded by a mobile cordon wherever they go”

A source inside the FA told the newspaper: “The safety and security of the players, staff and their families is the number one priority.

Precautions in the US have been stepped up, and players will be surrounded by a mobile cordon wherever they go. The team hotel will become a real fortress”.
