Barcelona continues the fight on all fronts in the current season

The Catalan team has the best season of recent years.

After conquering the Spanish Super Cup earlier this year (5-2 with Real Madrid in the final), Barcelona continues to hunt the other three trophies that are still put into play.

In the championship, the Blaugrana band is currently in the first position, having a three -point advance compared to the Real Champion, occupying the second place.

Things are good for the Catalans and the Champions League. Hansi Flick's students qualified in the quarterfinals of the competition, where they will face Borussia Dortmund.

Also, in the middle of the week, Barça won the tickets for the King's Cup final, after imposing 1-0 in the return from Wanda Metropolitano with Atletico Madrid (5-4 general).

These impressive performances are also completed by a series of historical invincibility. Barcelona is undefeated in 2025, during which time it registered 18 victories and only three equality results in the 21 duels disputed in all competitions. Thus, Hansi Flick has shot down the record set by Johan Cruyff on the Catalan bench in the 1993/94 season, who had ticked 19 consecutive matches without failure.

Betis tied six victories in La Liga

On the other hand, Manuel Pellegrini's band can also boast the results he has obtained lately.

“Los Verdiblancos” won the last six parties in the championship, which allowed them to go up to the 6th place in the standings, currently 47 points, six in minus to Athletic Bilbao, the band on the 4th position.

Among the opponents Betis has defeated lately are large teams from Spanish football, such as Real Madrid, Real Sociedad and Local Rival FC Sevilla.

Also, the Andalusian group goes well and internationally. Pellegrini's band qualified in the quarterfinals of Conference League, after passing without emotions by Victoria Guimaraes, 6-2 in general.

Betis did not find the recipe for success in front of Barcelona this season

The two teams have already met twice in the current season.

The first direct duel took place in the championship round four months ago, more precisely on December 7, 2024, when Betis and Barcelona ended in Sevilla, score 2-2.

However, the latest dispute between this evening's opponents happened on January 15, in the finals of the King Cup, where Hansi Flick's band won without the right to call on his own ground, score 5-1.
