Ionuț Panţîru (29 years old), the former left defender from FCSB, explained why he would not accept to play for Steaua, a team that plays in League 2.

Ionuț Panţîru was the FCSB player between 2019 and 2025, but an extremely serious injury did not allow him to play for Becali's team for about two years.

He took a radical position in the war between FCSB and Steaua, saying that since he was a child he supported Gigi Becali's team and that he would not sign with the “military”.

Ionuț Panțiru would not sign with Steaua: “I never thought”

“I never thought of signing with them, but no, I wouldn't. I want first of all to return to Ligue 1. For me, the only team that was Steaua all the time was Gigi's team.

The star has never been relegated, everyone knows that! I, since I was little, have seen only one Star in League 1. Yes, I am a little star. I said it when I joined the team.

Then, Panțiru explained why he left FCSB last winter: “I played one match, then in Europe I didn't care at all. Then I played in the Romanian Cup, after that I didn't play two more matches and I had no chance to recover.

To get back to a very good shape or even to the shape you had before, you have to have continuity as an athlete. No matter how well you train or whatever else you do, the official game gives you the most confidence and the best tone. Nothing compares to official matches. You can train yourself the best”, said Ionuț Panțiru, according to prosport.ro.

Pantîru is currently the player of the second division CS Tunari. After the separation from FCSB, he played for Voluntari.
