Krasnoyarsk City Council will receive permission to choose a new mayor
In Krasnoyarsk, the City Council will receive the powers to choose a new mayor. An amendment to the law on municipal reform in the first reading was approved today, October 3, in the Legislative Assembly of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
According to the current legislation, only the district council can appoint the head of the city. His elections will be held after the end of the current City Council in 2027. Only the governor can offer candidates for the position of mayor.
The initiator of the amendments that were discussed at the session was the governor of the region Mikhail Kotyukov. He proposed to secure the right to choose the head of the city for the current City Council.
In addition, deputies approved the transfer of powers from village councils to the new bodies of municipal districts. We will remind, earlier in the Krasnoyarsk City Council they have already discussed the topic of transferring authority to him from the Mininsky, Elite and Solontsovsky rural councils of deputies of the Emelyanovsky district, as well as the Berezovsky village council of deputies of the Berezovsky district.
“These are the expected issues that have to be solved now. Some of them are technical in nature, for example, the name of the municipal management body is clarified – There were areas, the districts became. Part is more fundamental. Today we are considering a bill that determines the powers of the city of Krasnoyarsk and their distribution to those territories that are part of the city. There are also part of issues related to urban planning policy. Such work will continue“, – The speaker of the regional parliament Alexei Dodatko noted.
